Benjamin P. Lap

Mr. Lap has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1982, and developed an expertise in real estate finance, construction finance, and real estate and commercial workout law while filling various roles at large banking institutions in Chicago, California and Florida from 1981 until 1994.

He became a mediator with the U.S. Treasury’s Resolution Trust Corporation’s (RTC) Alternative Dispute Resolution group in 1993.  Mr. Lap taught mediation and negotiation to other RTC and FDIC attorneys and business personnel, and conducted or participated in numerous mediations on behalf of the Resolution Trust in 1993 and 1994.  In late 1994, he changed careers and became a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry, eventually becoming CEO of a biotechnology startup.

Mr. Lap is a certified Circuit Civil Mediator in Florida, and has mediated over 100 cases since completing the training to become certified for Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation.
